There is no past, only the present. There is no future, only now. There is no time, only eternity. Nothing happens in the future, nothing happens in the past, everything happens in eternity.
That explains why slavery as it happened in America is not something that happened in the past that Black people need to get over because we didn’t own any slaves. Like everything else it happens in eternity. The idea that it happened in the past is an illusion. The issue of slavery and oppression is still very real, and even though the illusion we live under is that it happened long ago and they need to get over it to them it was only yesterday.
The Holy Spirit makes use of eternity in His own way through what is known as the Holy Instant. What this means is we don’t have to wait centuries for errors to be corrected. If the collective consciousness wanted to put an end to war it could be done in the Holy Instant. We would just stop making weapons and killing each other. Feeding the poor and sheltering the homeless could be done in the Holy Instant. We wouldn’t have to wait for government programs that don’t work or work poorly at best.
The illusion is that some of us live in luxury and others have nothing and are homeless. We are here for only a brief moment in eternity whether we live in Bel Air or Hollenbeck or behind a dumpster.
Death is the last illusion that needs to be overcome. We can choose to see life. We can choose to see light. That’s about what Marianne Williamson does. If you see the face of death you see the face of death everywhere. If you see death you cannot see life. If you see life you cannot see death.
This website and my teachings are from A Course in Miracles. Through examples from this text, and my sixty plus years of life as of this date I will look at history and modern day life from a Course in Miracles standpoint.
First of all let’s take a look at “A Course in Miracles” and explain what it is and what it means.
Helen Schucman wrote a Course in Miracles with assistance from Bill Thetford. They were colleagues in the Psychology Department of the Presbyterian Hospital at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons.
That’s just the very briefest of overviews and to say that she wrote it is an oversimplification. The official explanation is a Voice spoke to her for seven years and she wrote down everything it said to her and this became A Course in Miracles. The accepted version of this among Course followers is that it was the voice of Jesus and it was “channeled.” I’m sure there are many other possible explanations but the simplest explanation is A Course in Miracles, The Holy Bible, The Koran, and countless other religious texts constitute the written word of man. Many of the followers of these various religions will tell you their texts are the inspired word of God. From A Course in Miracles perspective this would be possible, because it teaches that the Holy Spirit is present in each of us.
There are also many other books about communication with Spiritual Beings. Four of them that I know about are Emmanuel’s Book one, two, and three by Pat Rodegast and Judith Stanton and The Disappearance of The Universe by Gary R. Renard. Pat Rodegast has channeled a being of golden light named Emmanuel for over thirty years and Gary R. Renard spoke with two ascended masters named Arten and Pursah for over ten years and wrote a book about it called The Disappearance of The Universe.
I often use the google search engine, as a tool to find out how much information on a subject is available. I typed Communication with Spiritual Beings into it and there were 745,000 hits. Although it can’t be verified by any scientific means it seems communication with Spiritual Beings is very common.
The written religious work of man is another thing entirely. It can easily be verified because it’s in black and white right in front of you. This is the number of hits I received on four religions I typed into the google search engine. I received 1,590,000 for A Course in Miracles. It turned out the Koran is a little older. I received 2,970,000 hits for it. The Holy Bible is hugely popular because I received 7,400,000 hits for it. But Buddhism must be the oldest religion because I received 25,700,000 hits for it. I could do a lot more of this but by now you should have the idea that religion has been around a long time.
To sum it all up here’s what I’ve decided about religions and the various texts. It’s up to you to decide how you want to interpret it and if you want to believe it or not. I will utilize two examples to show you the main issues. The Holy Bible was written thousands of years ago with primitive methods in a language other than English. It exists today as a patched together collection of different books written in different times.
A Course in Miracles was completed in 1975. Even in these relatively modern times there is much disagreement about what Jesus really told Helen Schucman and as an Enlightened Spiritual Master I have three different versions of it. I purchased my first one at Barnes and Noble, which is the one put out by the Foundation for Inner Peace. That one is fairly common. I also have the Original Edition by the Course in Miracles Society. A lady in our study group back in Independence Missouri gave me the last one. She pulled the pages off the Internet, put them in protectors, and put it together in a three ring binder. The official title is A Course In Miracles by Jesus Christ. It’s called the Urtext-The Original Complete Unedited Manuscript. Here’s what the foreword says about it. This is the original dictation of A Course in Miracles as given by Jesus Christ of Nazareth. This book is a digital reproduction of the original typewritten manuscript known as “The Urtext.” The content remains completely unchanged except in instances of minor typographical errors that may have occurred during the optical character recognition process. There has been no editing or abridgement of the original documents and great care has been taken to ensure that the errors and annotations of the Scribes of A Course In Miracles be faithfully reproduced. This book differs from the popular authorized edition in that it contains material that was deemed to be either too “personal” to the scribes, or too controversial.
